Founded in the 6th century, the monastery is one of the oldest continuously operating Christian monasteries in the world and is an important Orthodox Greek monastery.
Explore the monastery’s remarkable walls, which preserve a unique collection of religious and historical treasures. You will also have the opportunity to visit the St. Catherine’s Museum, home to a fascinating collection of ancient icons and religious artifacts. Among its treasures are icons attributed to Angelos, one of the most renowned artists of the 15th century, as well as works by his contemporaries.
